WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?

TO GET TO OUR LAWN

We have begun to get visits from the Americanus Gallus who are free range as near as we can tell. I have heard the various clucking in the neighborhood with the occasional outraged squawk after being chased either by local children or local dogs.

They seem to like our offering of fresh cut grass clumps and made comment that they found the sidewalk perfect for catching worms.

Oh, and there does not seem to be a rooster, I have not been awakened at 0500 by crowing. Um maybe these ladies are cruising the neighborhood looking for some male companionship.

Don't know about chickens crossing the road, but Hunter S Thompson once wrote about rabbits running over the road. They are adrenalin junkies.

Tell them to try plenty of fish. com. I've seen some old roosters there.
