Disaster dream....

Last night I dreamt of spectacular disasters! I was hiding in a house and people kept showing up and I kept keeping them to save them from the various disasters. One huge disasters was a very large herd of buffalo stampeding closer and closer, well that can't turn out well, so I kept telling people to close the curtains thinking if the buffalo would not see us we would not get trampled. Another imminent disaster was the collapse of a huge arena next door like a sports stadium, Last thing I remember was looking up and seeing stars twinkling through some of the collapsing roof. Jeez. Then I hear Miz Chicken screeching for everyone to get up and let her out of the backyard across the street.

Disaster
To dream that you are in a disaster represents your personal anxieties and fears of change. You are afraid of not knowing what is in store for you in the future.

Er, as far as that is concerned I am going to fire up Turbo tax and complete the taxes today, I always worry I will get something wrong or that the great State of Oregon wants more than we have already paid them. There anxiety and fears..check!

Sunday cooking and idle thoughts....

Sunday Morning celebrated 35 years today. I still miss Charles Kuralt especially his "On The Road" segments.

Today I made alternate potato salad.  I tossed the chopped onion in a sauce pan to caramelize them. Usual ingredients, capers and dill pickles, Mayo, mustard, celery seeds, chopped garlic, salt, pepper, red pepper flake, stir and into the fridge.

Also have been modifying pill regimen, still have low-ish potassium so taking lots of that. Down to eight kinds of pills, yay!!!
Must brag about our weather here on the southern Oregon coast, clear and cold then clear and warm this last week, perfect weather to go walk about.  Almost ready to go on taxes, waiting for stuff from work.   I heard the bookkeeper just retired, hope she got the W-2's done.  Bye Jo, enjoy the outer islands off South Carolina.

I have found a show accidentally as usual

Whilst surfing the channels, I found something last night called "Kim of Queens".   Former Miss Georgia went onto Miss America and post Miss became pagent trainer for young teens.  I haven't voluntarily watched Miss America since Bert Parks but the format is still the same; talent, runway and interview.  I remember thinking that once the interview questions years ago prompted an answer was all about how important manners were regarding World Peace.  Having thought about it, I have to agree.  If everyone had to be polite there might just be a little less violence and who knows might even lead to diplomacy.

Back to the show.  Kim has four,  no make that five pretty young teens and their mama's to coach.  In walks the ugly duckling who is a country girl; fishin', huntin', swimmin', cloggin', bad hair, bad clothes.  In fact this girl is so bad she needs subtitles to be understood.  She has a pigtail,  only missing the hat and short shorts to be mistaken for Ellie May or Daisy Duke..

However the chemistry between Miss Thang and Kim is electric!  Kim teachers her to Tap Dance instead of Clogging (sell it up here!), elocution (slow down, enunciate!), and Make up (Delicate!).   All of the girls are entered in a lower level pageant, Miss Onion Blossom (maybe).  Apparently the difference between the low level pageants and high end pageants is the depth of the make up which goes on with a heavier hand and more glitter.

Kim's office helpers are sent off to HotLanta to find Camo evening wear for the pageant; they get lost, they argue, they sabotage each other, more like typical "Secrets of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood" shenanigans than "Steel Magnolias".

The Ugly Ducklings transformation after big hair, make up and clothes is astounding.  She is absolutely gorgeous and makes a pretty girl and wouldn't you know it she wins the pageant.

If I accidentally find the show again I may watch out of morbid curiosity just to see if Kim's helpers, a grown, mother daughter team kill each other after all.  Pass the sweet tea y'all.....

Oh, Goody.....

After 40 it's patch, patch, patch.   Well I have managed to avoid surgery, specialists however are looming in my future.  Just visited my health care provider for more medication adjustment for stupid blood pressure, up the dosage?   Sure thing.  Oh and lets get you to Roseburg to a specialist, you are spilling protein, that's why you are swelling up like a poisoned pup.  And take this very large container and void in that for 24 hours and bring it back.  Oy...so will be playing with the GPS thingamabob as soon as they get me scheduled.  Yeesh.   Take a good well charged E-reader.
