COQUILLE DIARY JANUARY 2004

COQUILLE DIARY JAN 2004:

Jan 1: watching the Rose bowl parade. Idaho had a composite band in the parade today.

1-3-04:  Series of winter storms blown in off the Pacific.  Lots of snow along I-5.  Power went out early Friday morning.  I got up and went to work.  The lights were on at the hospital as we have a big old generator that roars to life.  Power still off by time to go home.  Tim was freezing.  We went down town looking for anything open, nope. Went home and cleared out the fireplace and began burning a backlog of paper that had accumulated for about five years.  That kept us busy until about 8 pm. we then went to bed and cuddled with an extra cover. We did well while in bed.  About 3 am the power came back on. Thank you lineman guys!!!

Busy at the hospital.  Doctors reluctant to discharge patients to cold homes to the length of stay got extended a good 24 hours.

We went shopping to Freddy's to stock up on commodies and groceries.  I snagged a bag of beans and cooked a pot of red beans and threw in the left over ham and a couple of onions..delish.

That is all for January. G'night folks.
