I was walking down the hall at work the other day and stopped at a traffic jam to wait for one of the aids to take a food tray into one of the rooms. I noticed that she had a neck pierce similar to photo just above. She is very young. I was a little shocked.
Here are five reasons not to pierce your neck:
1. Immune reaction, your body might reject the foreign object.
2. Infection. Keep it clean.
3. Limited employment, especially if there is a dress code that extends to body piercing.
4. Personal problems if friends or family strongly object to piercing adding stress to your already colorful life.
5. Extended piercing, in cases where the piercee is getting older, can leave permanent holes in youse hide.
... and my personal favorite:
6. Better sleep on your face unless you take the trouble to remove that 1 1/2 inch bar from the back of your neck, you jack wagon!!

I do not understand it. Piercing I mean - how can one freely have metal objects hit into one's body? And everything near the spine is even more dangerous. Next is shooting holes in the feet.
I was thinking that anyone with one of those electronic tazer things would short out SOMEthing... R
Actually, nape piercings do not set off metal detectors or anything of the sort. It is a very advanced piercing and with proper care does not lead to extensive scarring or infection. Just as every generation has exhibited their freedom of expression, this too is a generational trend. Piercings and tattoos have become quite popular. However, they will remain a shock to the older generation. Passing judgment simply equates to being closed minded.
Nape piercings look very attractive on those who has fair colored skin tone. The one with the nape piercing in above picture is definitely looking amazingly perfect with them.
